2025 Germany-Korea AI Forum
SW Maestro Center, Seoul, South Korea; 14:00-17:10 (KST/UTC+9)

Artificial Intelligence is shaping the future of our economies and societies. With rapid progress in areas such as robotics, digital twins and trustworthy AI, international cooperation becomes increasingly important. The Germany-Korea AI Forum, organised under the umbrella of the Korean-German Digital Dialogue, provides a platform to exchange experiences, share insights on current AI developments, and explore new opportunities for bilateral collaboration.
The forum is co-organised by Fraunhofer Korea, the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Promotion (IITP), the Seoul AI Foundation (SAIF), and the German Embassy in Korea, with the support of Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and Germany’s Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation (BMDS) – the two leading ministries of the Korean-German Digital Dialogue.
This year’s main theme is “Physical AI”, highlighting how AI is moving beyond the digital space into real-world applications. Sessions will cover topics such as:
- Trends and R&D strategies in Germany and Korea
- Building trust in the age of Physical AI
- Advances in robot foundation models
- Simulation-based validation of AI systems
- Applying research results in industrial practice
Keynote remarks will be delivered by representatives from both governments and research institutions, including IITP President Jin-Bae Hong, German Ambassador Georg Wilfried Schmidt, and leading experts from Fraunhofer and Korean academia. The German Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation (BMDS) will participate via live video connection with Dr Marc Lendermann, Head of Division for Bilateral Digital Policy/ Digital Dialogues.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required and is on a first come, first serve basis. Register by sending a short e-mail to Taewoo Lee: twlee@iitp.kr
