Berlin

On 20 May 2022, the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) will receive a delegation from the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) in Berlin to hold the 2nd Annual Meeting of the German-Brazilian Digital Dialogue.

For the second time, Brazil and Germany will celebrate a bilateral dialogue aimed at strengthening economic relations in the field of digitalisation and information and communication technologies (ICT). The German-Brazilian Digital Dialogue will bring together high-level government representatives, technical experts and private sector stakeholders from both countries to assess the progress made in the implementation of the multi-annual Work Plan. Both sides also plan to agree on next steps for cooperation.

The bilateral Digital Dialogues format promotes the expansion and deepening of the international cooperation between Germany and its strategic partner countries. The goal is to align framework conditions and to establish international standards of governance and regulation for the digitalisation of the economy.

The meeting will be co-chaired by Stefan Schnorr, State Secretary for Digital and Transport, and Sergio Freitas de Almeida, Vice-Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations. The delegation of MCTI is joined by José Gontijo, Secretary for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Marcelo Morales, Secretary for Research and Education.

On the week leading up to the Annual Meeting, the delegation of MCTI will be joined by representatives from BMDV, BMBF and BMWK in technical visits to research institutions and technology hubs.
