High-level policy dialogue and a Joint Working Plan

From 20 to 21 January 2025, a delegation from the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, led by State Secretary Stefan Schnorr, visited Seoul for a series of high-level meetings with policymakers, think tanks, academics, civil society representatives, and business leaders.

The two-day visit culminated in the Second High-Level Political Meeting of the Korean-German Digital Dialogue. The exchanged focused on key topics such as the application of artificial intelligence in public administration, the EU AI Act and its Korean counterpart, AI safety.

A central milestone was the signing of a Joint Working Plan by State Secretary Schnorr and Vice Minister Kang of Koreas’s Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT). The plan outlines a roadmap for bilateral digital cooperation over the next two years, identifying five core technology areas: AI, Smart Cities/ Digital Twins, Cloud, Quantum Computing and 6G.
