On 12 May, the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) held first stakeholder consultations for the Digital Dialogues with Japan, Singapore and the Republic of Korea. The ministry invited stakeholders from business, academia and civil society to an open exchange on focus topics that should be discussed within the Digital Dialogues. Representatives of the German embassies in the three countries shared current developments in the countries' digital policies.

The German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) has launched the stakeholder participation process for Germany's strategy on international digital policy. Ben Brake, Director General Digital and Data Policy at BMDV, invited to the first Stakeholder Forum International Digital Policy on 23 February. It took place in German.

On 1 December, the International Digital Dialogues organised a hybrid workshop at the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2022 to discuss the global governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for sustainable development. The speakers agreed that inclusive multi-stakeholder approaches are essential for developing AI governance frameworks, and that there is a need for AI governance structures that actively promote sustainable development.

Within the framework of the International Digital Dialogues, the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) hosted an exclusive roundtable on the topic of International Data Spaces. High-ranking representatives of the public and private sector discussed framework conditions for data spaces at international level.
