Germany’s skills gap: A secondary analysis of demand in the IT sector

Digitalisation continues to drive demand for IT professionals in Germany. But what will the largest skills gaps be by 2028, and what competencies will be required?

Using the labour market projections of the German Economic Institute (IW) and Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), this analysis identifies the digital occupations in which the skills gap is growing most strongly in absolute terms and systematically analyses the corresponding training and qualification profiles.
