Webinar on AI regulation and the environment: Pathways to a sustainable planet

The Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue will host a panel discussion about “AI regulation and the environment: pathways to a sustainable planet” in partnership with the G20 engagement groups for Business (B20) and Think Thanks (T20). The event will take place on 10 July 2024 from 09:00 to 11:00 BRT / 14:00 to 16:00 CEST. The discussion will be held in English.

Stakeholders from the private sector, civil society and academia will discuss approaches and challenges of aligning artificial intelligence (AI) with environmental sustainability. The webinar offers a platform to exchange ideas about the interplay between sustainability and digital transformation.

The event is divided into two 30-minute sessions:

  1. Challenges and opportunities of AI regulation in supporting the green transition and mitigating the environmental impact
  2. Harmonising technological innovation and environmental sustainability

Each session contains speakers from both engagement groups and academic specialists. A moderated debate will follow their inputs, where the public will be invited to ask questions and share insights.

The debate will take place on a Webex call with selected stakeholders. To join the call, we kindly ask you register using the form available below. You will receive the dial-in information afterwards.

The call will also be livestreamed on our YouTube channel.
