With the advent of AI, Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous driving, 5G and other emerging technologies, the demand for seamless connectivity also increases. To enable such connectivity, an effective spectrum management and coordination are critical to ensure seamless with minimal interference connection. Especially in areas such as borders, coordination between countries is important due to the difference in geographical conditions, technology level, national priorities and other challenging conditions. Effective coordination can unlock the capacity for interoperability and economic benefits that will follow.
The Knowledge Exchange on Cross-Border Spectrum Management in Indonesia, Germany and the EU aims not only to further the dialogue on digital infrastructure, but also to:
- Bring together policymakers and relevant stakeholders to discuss and exchange information on cross-border spectrum policy frameworks and harmonisation
- Share the challenges and best practices in managing cross-border spectrum in Indonesia, Germany and the EU
- Explore potential collaborative areas on cross-border spectrum management, coordination and harmonisation
