The consultation took place at the Kofi Annan ICT Centre of Excellence in Accra. Senior officials representing MOCDTI, NITA and the German Federal Ministry for Digitalization and Government Modernization (BMDS) opened the meeting. They emphasised the importance of a multi‑stakeholder dialogue and referred to the Joint Declaration of Intent between Ghana and Germany. Discussions then moved into panel sessions covering core themes of the Ghanaian-German Digital Dialogue, including data protection, digital inclusion, emerging technologies and regulatory coherence.

Discussion on the digital economy, start-ups and youth innovation

Participants from across sectors shared their experiences, challenges and suggestions for collaboration. They highlighted Ghana’s growing digital economy, expanding start‑up ecosystem and youth innovation potential. The discussion also revolved around areas needing support, such as digital infrastructure, cybersecurity and inclusive access policies.

Development of the Ghanaian-German Digital Dialogue

The feedback gathered during the consultation will directly feed into the development of the Ghanaian-German Digital Dialogue, including planned activities leading up to the annual meeting between the ministries.

The ministries remain committed to ensuring that the outcomes of this consultation translate into actionable and impactful collaboration across both countries.
