Workshop series on data spaces within Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue

In collaboration with key stakeholders from the initiative “Data Spaces in Brazil”, the Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue promoted a series of discussions on data spaces. Three technical workshops took place in Porto Alegre, São Paulo and Brasília. They highlighted the potential of data spaces to foster innovation and enhance the data ecosystems in Brazil and Germany.

BMDV delegation visits Brazil to exchange on digital transformation

From 9 to 13 September 2023, a delegation from the German Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV) visited São Paulo and Brasília. Benjamin Brake, Director General Digital and Data Policy at BMDV, led the delegation. The visit aimed to foster cooperation and exchange of knowledge in digital transformation between Germany and Brazil.

Exchange on national digital strategies of Indonesia and Germany

On 31 August 2023, the first stakeholder exchange of the Indonesian-German Digital Dialogue took place. The German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) and the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCI) jointly hosted the virtual event and informed about the national digital strategies of both countries. More than 80 representatives from politics, academia, business and civil society joined the exchange.

Stakeholder consultation for Digital Dialogues with Ghana, Kenya and South Africa

The German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) held its first stakeholder consultation for the planned Digital Dialogues with Ghana, Kenya and South Africa on 31 August. Representatives from business, academia and civil society took part in the virtual event to contribute their focus topics for the Digital Dialogues.

On 24 August 2023, representatives from the German Datacenter Association (GDA) and the Mexican Association of Data Centers (MEXDC) participated in a virtual meeting to exchange best practices for energy efficiency and talent recruitment strategies.

The Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue supported the development of a green paper on data spaces in Brazil. Workshop on data spaces in Brazil

On 4 July 2023, the Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue co-hosted an online workshop on data spaces in Brazil together with the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) and other associations. 7th Japanese-German ICT Policy Dialogue

On 21 June, the 7th Japanese-German ICT Policy Dialogue took place at the premises of the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) - together with the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). The hybrid Digital Dialogue was divided into a government dialogue in the morning and an exchange with stakeholders in the afternoon.

On 2 June 2023, the Secretariat for the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue organised the workshop “Digital platforms: Socioeconomic fundaments, intersectoral prospects and regulatory challenges”.
