Open-source cooperation: turning policy dialogue into concrete partnership opportunities in Nairobi
Together with the Digital Transformation Center Kenya, the Secretariat for the Kenyan-German Digital Dialogue organised a high-level delegation visit of seven German and European digital, cloud, open-source, and outsourcing companies to Kenya. The key outcome of the mission: the identification of concrete areas for collaboration in the open-source ecosystem and in IT talent sourcing.

Public sector modernisation in focus during Brazilian delegation visit to Germany
From 4 to 8 May 2026, a delegation from Brazil’s Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) visited Berlin and discussed topics around digital government and administrative modernisation with German partners. The visit opened up pathways for cooperation between both countries on public sector innovation.

Indonesia
Indonesian-German Digital Dialogue: Kick-off of working groups on AI governance and data protection
On 6 May 2026, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (MCDA) and the German Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation (BMDS) met in Jakarta for the annual meeting of the Indonesian-German Digital Dialogue. It was the third annual meeting of the increasingly strong partnership between Indonesia and Germany. A key outcome was the kick-off of working groups, focused on data protection policy and on AI governance.

New impulses for IT outsourcing: African companies visit German IT hubs and Hannover Messe
In April 2026, a delegation of six IT companies from Ghana and Kenya travelled to Germany as part of the International Digital Dialogues to discuss business opportunities in the field of IT outsourcing and digital services. The African companies connected with German businesses, gained insights into market requirements and laid the groundwork for future partnerships.

Strengthening Brazilian-German cooperation at Hannover Messe 2026
From 20 to 24 April, representatives from the Brazilian Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) as well as other Brazilian organisations visited Germany. They attended Hannover Messe and met with representatives of the German government and industry to jointly plan cooperation activities and innovation projects. The highlight of the delegation visit was the annual meeting of the Brazilian-German Digital Dialogue.

Launch of the Indo-German "AI for Mittelstand" Working Group
With the Indo-German AI Pact announced in February 2026, AI for Mittelstand is the first step in taking the bilateral agreement off the ground. The new working group will create business opportunities between German Mittelstand and India’s AI ecosystem. The aim: co-innovation and co-creation of industrial AI solutions for mutual economic benefit.

From dialogue to action: Strengthening Mexican-German MSME cooperation
As part of the Mexican-German Digital Dialogue, the German Association for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft, BVMW) met with the Mexican Association of Energy Efficiency Companies (Asociación Mexicana de Empresas de Eficiencia Energética, AMENEER) on 12 March 2026, and with the Business Coordinating Council (Consejo Coordinador Empresarial, CCE) on 20 March 2026.

Technical mission to Brussels: Advancing a Digital Partnership between Brazil and the EU
On 5 and 6 March 2026, a Brazilian delegation of government and civil society representatives visited Brussels. They met with European regulators to exchange on digital regulations and international digital policy. The visit occurs in the context of plans to elevate the bilateral cooperation to a Digital Partnership level later this year.

From data to growth: Driving Kenya’s outsourcing boom
On 25 February, the Kenyan-German working group on global business services and IT outsourcing met, as part of the Kenyan-German Digital Dialogue. German and Kenyan companies in the sector of business process and IT outsourcing took part in the online meeting. They discussed the "outsourcing boom" as well as the role of trusted data flows for Kenya’s economy.
