Singapore is considered one of the most innovative countries in the world – a characteristic it shares with Germany. The tech cluster in Singapore includes AI applications, cloud computing and big data. Companies in this tech cluster range from local start-ups and SMEs to global tech players. Central fields of action in Singapore’s digital strategy are artificial intelligence, the smart city and e-government.
In order to discuss digital policy initiatives, exchange best practices and provide a platform for business-to-business contacts, the German and Singaporean governments established a bilateral Digital Dialogue in 2019. This dialogue is led by the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) and the Singaporean Ministry of Communications and Information. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the two sides will reconvene the German-Singaporean Digital Dialogue with a view to developing a joint work plan in 2022.
