Singapore is considered one of the most innovative countries in the world – a characteristic it shares with Germany. The tech cluster in Singapore includes AI applications, cloud computing and big data. Companies in this tech cluster range from local start-ups and SMEs to global tech players. Central fields of action in Singapore’s digital strategy are artificial intelligence, smart cities and digital government.
In order to discuss digital policy initiatives, exchange best practices and provide a platform for business-to-business contacts, the German and Singaporean governments established a bilateral Digital Dialogue in 2019. This dialogue is led by the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) and the Singaporean Ministry of Communications and Information. In addition to regular talks at government level, interested companies, research institutes and civil society organisations from both countries can get directly involved in multi-stakeholder meetings.
